Has anyone else noticed the little sub-titles or captions that show up under various name in Facebook? At some point during my time with Facebook, I had managed to specify my previous employer’s name. Ever since, the company name has been planted firmly beneath my name for all of my Facebook friends and family to see. So here’s the deal.
Facebook is made up of many networks, each based around a workplace, region, high school or college. You may or may not be involved in a network, and this is something that you set manually in your account. Here’s how:
- Go to Account Settings
- Click on “Networks”
- Type in your school, employer or city/state to join.
Now comes the tricky part. I want to change my previous employer to my new employer which is Java Social Networking (JSN). Well, JSN is a smaller company than say Sony or Apple. Therefore, we have not been set up as a network in Facebook. I would like to add JSN as a network, so I started to do some searching around on message boards and after contacting the appropriate parties at Facebook, here’s the response I received.
